Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The background removal runs entirely on your device, in your browser. The photo is never sent to a server.
Why did the first photo take longer?
The tool downloads an AI model the first time you use it — around 80MB normally, or ~185MB with "High accuracy mode" ticked. It's cached after that, so every photo after is much faster, even offline.
Why did it remove part of a person's clothing, or miss an edge?
On-device background removal isn't perfect — the default mode is tuned to be fast and light on data. Photos with multiple people, clothing that's a similar colour to the background, or busy scenes are more likely to have small mistakes. Tick "High accuracy mode" and try again — it uses a larger, more precise model that handles these cases better, at the cost of a bigger one-time download.

A PNG with a transparent background, ready to drop onto any background colour or use directly on a white product listing.
